BARBOUR COUNTY – To celebrate Men’s Health Month, the Barbour Community Health Association has enrolled all male patients who have attended the Myers Clinic or Belington Clinic for routine screenings from June 14-30 in a drawing.

Patients had the chance to win a YETI cooler in the drawing.

The Myers Clinic received 111 raffle entries and the Belington Clinic received 118 entries.

Myers Clinic patient Billy Workman won a YETI cooler in the design, and Robert Messer of the Belington Clinic won the second cooler in the design.

Each year, June is nationally recognized as Men’s Health Month with the goal of raising awareness of preventable health issues and encouraging the early detection and treatment of diseases, including cancer, heart disease and the Depression.

Health organizations across the country of Barbour organize various screening events and promote the importance of routine screening and the implementation of healthy behaviors in daily life.

Belington and Myers Clinics are federally licensed health centers that offer medical and behavioral health and wellness programs to patients with insurance, Medicare and / or Medicaid and those who do not have health insurance through the clinic’s Health Access program.

The organization also operates Belington Wellness Center, Brandon Wellness Center, Philippi Wellness Center and AB Wellness Center.

The Belington Wellness Center is located next to the Belington Medical Clinic and offers a wide variety of equipment and exercise programs, as well as a swimming pool.

Brandon Wellness Center is a school health center that provides a variety of nursing, preventive and acute, medical and behavioral services to students and staff at Philip Barbour High School in Barbour County.

Brandon School Health Services are available to all students and families at the Barbour County School.

AB Wellness Center provides acute and chronic medical services to all currently enrolled students and staff of Alderson Broaddus University.

The Philippi Wellness Center is located behind the Barbour Chiropractic Center at 206 N. Main Street and offers services designed to improve fitness and health through exercise equipment and periodic workshops and seminars.
